RAESI TESSEMA: I leave the historical details of this spiritualist icon of justice for people to learn from any possible sources. Raesi Tessema, was, however the governor of Akeleguzai once upon a time in his generation where the communal justice system of the era was traditionally under the jurisdiction of his authority. This man faced a very intricate problem that tested his perception of justice as a matter of destiny: his son killed a person and his case came to his table for judgment. The appropriate punishment for such a crime in that province was Capital Punishment (“The lawful infliction of death as a punishment; the death penalty against the criminal”). As devastating as it was, this blessed gentleman delivered such a verdict by means of hanging against his son. He was said to have stayed throughout the process of his son’s death reading his Bible and praying at home.
One cannot bless the self with inner integrity and peace of mind higher than this mark of spirituality dear Eritreans! Fairness is colorless and has no ethnicity and religion. This father figure gave impartial justice because that was his political philosophy: justice was his concept of life and he lived it practically by choice. He overcame the temptation of bias by arresting his ego in favor of fairness and lost a son as a result by his own judgment.
I am dignified to dedicate this article to RAESI TESSEMA, the figure of SELFLESSNESS and FAIRNESS especially at this point in the Eritrean experience where justice has died to defend humanity. In the progression, I remind people to be careful from passing a verdict on someone without evidence. We have to learn something from the spiritual integrity of RAESI TESSEMA on the value of a human life: that JUSTICE IS NOT UNLESS CONSISTEN!!
Fellow Eritreans;
I briefly displayed my opinion on the question of Ali Abdu in at least two of my past articles, but I felt like sharing my thoughts on this controversial subject with a better detail especially after I read the reaction of some concerned Eritreans to the following paragraph in my article “HILINA”.
In that article I said this: ”I can not justify the fate of Eritrean liberators Ugbe Abraha and Mahmood Sherifo who were forced to commit suicide or die in prison just for asking the implementation of our constitution. I despise to live in Eritrea where its liberators such as Dr. Asefaw, General Tekeste Haile and even brother Ali Addu can not live in because of senseless injustice. I do not want to be an Eritrean in an Eritrea that jails and kills its makers because I do not deserve it as much. I cannot do it without being selfish. I just do not want to be an Eritrean for the sake of identity. It breaks down at this fundamental contradiction of the concept in my conditionally pacifist outlook of life.”
• Quiet a few good brothers and sisters did not want Ali Abdu in the list and actually expressed their honest opinions about my statement. I appreciate the positive feedback very much so and I partially justify the collective reaction with respect. Here is my GUILTY WITH EXPLANATION plea to those I promised to respond in the forum.
• Let me try to get the “I despise to live in Eritrea where its liberators such as Dr. Asefaw, General Tekeste Haile and even brother Ali Addu can not live in because of senseless injustice” out of the way first. If the notion that Tegadelti secured the Eritrean independence is either acceptable or correct, then my conclusion that Ali Abdu contributed to the liberation of the country is consistent with the hypothesis because he was a TEGADALAI. Having been Tegadalai is the only requirement here for being a “liberator” in my understanding. Therefore, Ali qualifies for this status (liberator) without a problem.
My personal opinion of Ali Abdu is negative. This man served the Afwerki regime as his best man in the circle. Many people have been hurt by his negative contribution in the Eritrean society. We know, however, that Eritrea is managed under absolute dictatorship by the worse dictator in the world: a tight political condition that does not allow any one to do anything without his approval. There is no room for modulating, modifying or amending a centralized idea that radiates from the presidential office in Asmara. The dictator has total control over the society and he alone decides what to do in the country. Under such a highly secretive and overly suspicious structure, no employee can work independently: one must follow the instructions without hesitation. This is the case to all servants of the system including the Ambassadors, Ministers and the Generals. They are restricted to only do what they are told to do. In a way, they have been robbed of their individuality substantially, but by choice: some of them conform to this humiliation and others leave the system behind when they get the chance.
There is no doubt that Ali Abdu (Former MINISTER of INFORMATION) was a dedicated servant of the Eritrean regime; probably the closest and most obedient man to Afwerki as well. Unconfirmed sources of information say that he was molded to be the most powerful politician under the president and was more important than the Generals and all Ministers combined. This Minister was, nevertheless, incapable of taking any action outside the dictator’s instructions similar to all individuals in the government.
The Minister was recently interviewed and the Eritrean political life accordingly appears like “….he and the other ministers do not have to know anything about what happened [to] Dawit [Issac] and other imprisoned journalists and politicians.”
In Ali’s words; “Neither I nor any other minister dared to ask what happened to Dawit Isaak. It is taboo to ask about things that are not related to one’s job to do. There is an old guerrilla culture in the country. It carries out orders without asking why, he says. Ali Abdu says it is routine to suspected dissidents arrested without court papers, without any documentation. Those who do the work, oral orders. Sometimes, there is over the phone and in coded language. They are afraid of being intercepted by Western intelligence services.”
Comment
Eritrean government officials including the second strongest man of power in this discussion were and are simply symbolic puppets no better that mobile statues with a collective human mind owned by the absolute dictator, the only man that counts in the Eritrean society. The seemingly big individuals in the entire political structure of the country serve only as the boss’s material objects conditioned to transmit his mind without a say like remote controlled robots. There is no hard copy documentation in the working environment for no record should be traced in the future about the crimes done behind the screen. One is called to do or say something by phone and he does it; and another bites the dust!!! This conclusion is in harmony with Ali Abdu’s short but precise interview.
The question is what the government officials do in Asmara and elsewhere at large?
The so-called Eritrean Cabinet of Ministers and Ambassadors are actually socio- economic parasites that get paid for the sake of formality literally without a job.
Here are examples to this effect:
Yemane Gebreab, is for instance the Head of Political Affairs and Presidential Adviser at the People’s Front for Democracy and Justice (PFDJ). His main job is to preach Afwerkism (the political philosophy of the party). But how can he teach anyone a non-documented philosophy only known to the president? His other responsibility is to advice the president. But how can he advice an absolute dictator who “knows every thing” and does not want to be advised? In short, Yemane Gebreab has nothing to do in his daily life in Eritrea except chilling around and getting paid dearly for it.
Girma Asmerom is an Eritrean Ambassador to the African Union in Addis Ababa. He is the only Eritrean politician in Ethiopia who lives isolated from the massive Eritrean people and the opposition groups there; similar to the most internationally isolated president in Asmara (excuse Bashir for his recent visit). With no contact with Eritreans, Girma has nothing to do with any type of communal or social activities in that country.
Clearly, Ambassador Girma’s main job is diplomacy but no foreign country wants to do diplomacy with isolated and sanctioned Eritrea that is not even allowed to be an IGAD member yet. Therefore, he does not have any diplomatic assignment to do in Addis. His role may then be waiting for AU meetings to paraphrase his boss’s messages (the monotonous border stuff) without any input and modification from his mind. This brother is chilling as well in isolation in Addis with out a job. I cannot tell you how he kills his time but he has a lot of it and money to do whatever he wants to do.
The same thing applies to the Eritrea’s Ambassador to the United Nations Araya Desta. All he has to do in New York is attending meetings whenever applicable and transmitting the same issue concerning the border misunderstanding with Ethiopia probably from the same document that was exhausted in the platform for the last 12 years. This brother is chilling like the others as well with nothing else to do in the City.
What appears to be going on is that the president is stretched to the limit controlling everything and the officials are idly sitting around draining their brains. They may then go to the office to do whatever they want to do (probably playing cards, computer games, taking naps or even boozing a bit) and go back home when the time is up. As this mode of operation deeply infiltrates the group, one may not have to go to work all together since there is nothing to do except waiting for orders from above, which can be done with the help of wireless telephones from anywhere in the city (Café, Bar, etc)
It is a comfortable life out there folks in terms of rest and money! Plenty of time to enjoy life and to sleep around, but this comes with a heavy cost in terms of mental deterioration; chronic sense of uselessness specially when they are not allowed to read books and discuss things that do not conform to Afwerkism. What do you do without the freedom to read and write? Where do you enhance your creativity in the absence of these rights? For how long can you rationally live in such a condition and how much boozing can the body sustain? Life loses its essence without motion, the brain rusts and the duplicative mind becomes unproductive making the victim a walking zombie without purpose.
In such a setup Ali could have only been used as a transmission medium of instructions from the president to other officials under his superficial authority. One would still guess though, that Ali Abdu would be the first person to know the most sensitive matters of the country by virtue of being the INFORMATION MINISTER and the closest man to the boss! But this assumption was contradicted by his recent interview to the surprise of many observers. The extremely secretive nature of the regime would not allow this: On the burning issue of Dawit Issac, for instance, Ali Abdu said that;
“..he is sorry about what happened Dawit Isaak and other journalists. But it is only the president himself and his closest security that has information about Isaak. Not even the police chief know anything about it.”
Comment
This testimony discloses the extent this most important Minister of his time was irrelevant in the Eritrean political arena, ladies and gentlemen!
Ali finally left the regime that stole his intelligence and conditioned him to work against the people for many years. This defection should naturally situate him in the side of the resistance by default logic in my opinion. It at least qualifies him for AMNESTY in future Eritrea through a procedure by which the concept is practically reduced to reality. “Repentance for Forgiveness” is one factor that should play a big role in our society’s forward mobility drive (like in many other societies with similar experience), should it be found relevant to Ali Abdu’s situation. It can even get to the point of serious contradiction between him and the society should there be questionable violations relevant to the issue. In any case; Amnesty and Reconciliation will take care of justice in his case in transparent Eritrea (I hope everyone understands the necessity of RECONCILIATION to the Eritrean society, although this crucial process has also been suppressed by this president for so long.)
JUSTICE
• A civilized justice arrangement must be fair to the two opposing sides under its jurisdiction. Here is actually where the integrity of a given justice system is measured in reference to objectivity. Someone states the following to that effect;
“Aside from the related requirement of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, the presumption of innocence is largely symbolic. The reality is that no defendant would face trial unless somebody—the crime victim, the prosecutor, a police officer—believed that the defendant was guilty of a crime. After the government has presented enough evidence to constitute Probable Cause to believe that the defendant has committed a crime, the accused need not be treated as if he or she was innocent of a crime, and the defendant may be jailed with the approval of the court. Nevertheless, the presumption of innocence is essential to the criminal process. The mere mention of the phrase presumed innocent keeps judges and juries focused on the ultimate issue at hand in a criminal case: whether the prosecution has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant committed the alleged acts. ”
Human life is a serious issue and civilized societies deal with its activities in such a civilized manner. In short, an accused is innocent until proven guilty by a fair justice system or until an accuser proves him guilty in a fair justice system. It cannot be clearer than this. This perception is the mark in so far as Eritrea Vs Ali Abdu is concerned. Our individual feelings and opinions on this brother do not matter unless we substantiate his crimes materially. One cannot do this without being an Afwerkist where ANARCHIC JUSTICE can subjugate any citizen in the country for no reason or without explanation; a proof, any other rational means of understanding or documentation.
CONCLUSION
Apparently, emotional discharge is something that understandably takes place because of what is happening in the country, but giving a verdict based on it is a crime. I cannot convict Ali Abdu without evidence and a due process no matter how I feel about him. Once I trespass this line of fairness, I have voluntarily given up my right to defend myself from any accuser. Neither can I vindicate him from the charges without a due process that asserts his innocence but every step in this issue has to be legalized to be JUST and to acquire popular validity. Time will tell the answer!
The fact remains that every judgment I pass on an individual directly affects my individual right. If I convict Ali Abdu without evidence, I will automatically lose my right to defend myself whenever I am accused including my right to complain about being at the mercy of anyone that wants to hurt me by means of unsubstantiated accusation. We cannot promote democracy and human rights without defending the essence of fairness, since democracy does not work in the absence of justice.
As the subject stands at this point in time, I fully believe Ali Abdu deserves the benefit of the doubt and his accusers carry the burden of proof, consistent to the most fundamental theory of NEUTRAL JUSTICE that we are trying to achieve in Eritrea. Ali Abdu, therefore stays innocent until proven guilty. Should the people of Eritrea establish a criminal case against him, they must prove it in court first where he can defend himself lawfully and leave the rest to the justice system. This is what we expect to see should his case materialize in democratic Eritrea. For now, I think we will benefit more by accepting him to the Resistance. Please use your democratic right to participate and comment on this article in accordance to how it grabs you in the mind!!!!
Ali Abdu’s Quietism
Other than that, I am surprised by Ali Abdu’s brief exposure to the public and his disappearance then after. He may not have too much to tell based on how his working condition had been but I believe this man can help the resistance a lot and can even vindicate himself from the clouds of doubt through fearless participation in the struggle for freedom from the grip of dictatorship. I appreciate the information he gave on the fate of Dawit Issac, a sad story of a young Journalist who disappeared without trace in Afwerkist Eritrea, but what is next? Why is he quiet at the time we are waiting to hear more from him? I do not think this is a constructive approach. To me, his silence after defection is more bothersome than his servitude to the dictator when he was under. Once again, patience is a virtue!

ኣብዚ ቀረባ እዋን ደረጀ ደምሴ ወዱ ንጀነራል ደምሴ ቡልቶ ምስ ኣብ ደገ እትርከብ ብእሳት እትፍለጥ ናይ ‘ኢትዮጵያውያን’ ተለቪዥን ቃለ-መሕትት ከካይድ ተከታቲለዮ ኔረ። (ደምሴ ቡልቶ ሓደ ካብ ንስርዓት መንግስቱ ክሳብ ግዜ ሞቶም ዝገልገልዎ ዓበይቲ ጀነራላት ኮይኑ፣ ኣብቲ ኣብ ጉንቦት 1988 ኣንጻር መንግስቱ ሃይለማርያም ዝተፈተነ ዕልዋ መንግስቲ ብምስታፉ፣ ምስ ካልኦት መሳርሕቱ ብጭካኔ ዝተቐትለ ምኩር መኮንን ኢዩ ኔሩ።) ቃለ መሕትቱ ነቲ ኣብ ግዜ ዕልዋ 1988 ኣመልኪቱ ዝጸሓፎ መጽሓፍ ዘተኮረ ኮይኑ ክሳብ ሕጂ ካብ ዝሰማዕናዮም ዕላላት ዝሓሸ ብመጽናዕቲ ዝተደገፈ ኣቀራርባ ዝነበሮ ይመስል። ደረጀ ኣብ መጽናዕቱ ሶማል፣ ሻዕብያን ወያነን ኣብዚ ኹሉ ዝተኻየደ ኩናት 5 ጀነራላት ጥራሕ ክቐትሉ ከለዉ፣ መንግስቱ ሃይለማርያም ግን ኣብ 17 ዘመነ ስልጣኑ 55 ጀነራላት ቀቲሉ፣ ካብ ኤርትራ ምስ ዕልዋ ብዝተኣሳሰር ጥራሕ 430 ላዕለዎት ወተሃደራውያን ኣዘዝቲ ኣሲሩ ካብ ስራሕ ዓዲ ኣውዒሉ ኢሉ። ስለዚ ይብል ደረጀ መንግስቱ ሃይለማርያም ኢትዮጵያ ኣብ ስዕረት ንኽትወድቕ ቀንዲ ተሓባባራይ እምበር ንኢትዮጵያ ተከላኻላይ ኣይነበረን። ቀንዲ ተሓታቲ ናይ ኢትዮጵያን ወተሃደራታን ስዕረት ኣብ 1991 ድማ መንግስቱ ባዕሉ ምኻኑ ብስነፍልጠታዊ መንገዲ ተንቲኑ። ብርግጽ መንግስቱ ኣብ 1988 ተዓልዩ ኔሩ እንተዝኸውን ምናልባት እቲ ድሕሪኡ ኣብ ጎቦታት ከረን፣ ጊንዳዕ፣ ኩበይ፣ ዓዲረሶን ጎላጉል ማይዕዳጋን ብክልቲኡ ወገን ዝወደቐ ኣእላፍ ተጋዳላይን ወትሃደር ኢትዮጵያን ምደሓነ ኔሩ። ስለዚ ውልቀ መላኽነት መንግስቱ ንክልቲኡ ህዝብታት ለኪሙ’ዩ ከይዱ።
ታሪኽ፣ ታሪኽ እካ እንተኾነ ካብ ታሪኽ ዘይምምሃር ዝኸፍእ ነገር ግን የለን። ምኽንያቱ ንታሪኽ ክትደግም ኩሉ ግዜ ኣብ ታሪኽ ስለ እትነብር። እዚ ሕጂ ኣብ ዝባን ኤርትራውያን ሸይሸይ ዝብል ዘሎ ናይ ኢሳያስ ስርዓት ብምንታይ’ዩ ካብ ናይ መንግስቱ ስርዓት ዝፍለ? ናይ መንግስቱ ስርዓት ንኢትዮጵያ ለኪሙ ዝተዓዝረ ስርዓት እንተደኣ ኮይኑ፣ ናይ ኢሳያስ ስርዓት ንኤርትራ ለኪሙ ክጠፍእ ምኻኑ ከመይ ጌሩ ይጠፍኣና? ደረጀ ናይ 55 ጀነራላት ምቕታል ንኢትዮጵያ ዓቢ ክሳራ ከምዝነበረ ምግላጹ ብርግጽ ሓቁ’ሎ። ምስ ዕብየትን ብዝሒ ህዝብን ኢትዮጵያ ኣነጻጺርካ ክትርእዮ ከለኻ ግን፣ ኣብ ኤርትራ ዘሎ ቅዝፈት ናይ መኮንናት፣ ምሁራትን ሚኒስተራትን ብዕጽፍጻፍ ካብ ናይ መንግስቱ ይበዝሕ። ኣብ ልዕሊ ኤርትራውያን ዝወርድ ዘሎ በደል ኣይኮነን’ዶ ኣብ ኢትዮጵያ ኣብ ኣፍሪቃ’ውን መዳርግቲ የብሉን። ነቲ ትማሊ መንግስቱ ጌርዎ ኢልና ዝኾነንዮ እከይ ተግባራት፣ ሎሚ በቲ ናትና እንብሎ ስርዓት ብዘይ ዋላሓደ ፍልልይ ክትግበር ኣብ ቅድሚ ዓይንና ንዕዘብ ኣለና። ስለዚ ዝጠፈአ ምስጠፈአ ናይዚ ኩሉ ዕንወት ተሓታቲ ኢሳያስ ኢዩ ኔሩ ካብ ምባል፣ ሕጂ ከሎ ገና ናይዚ ኹሉ ጥፍኣት ተሓታቲ ንስኻ ኢኻ’ሞ ውረድ ምባል’ዶ ኣይምሓሸናን?
ከም ሰባት ረሳዕቲ ኢና’ሞ፣ ምናልባት ረሲዕናዮ ከይንኸውን፣ እስኪ ሓደ ሓደ ምስዚ ናይ ደረጀ ዝመሳሰል ኣብነታት ነልዕል። እቶም ብመንካዕን የሚንን፣ ካልእ ኣብ በበይኑ እዋናት ብውልቅን ጉጅለን ኣብ ሜዳ ዝሃለቑ ገዲፍና ኣብዘን ዝሓለፈ 22 ዓመታት ጥራሕ ክንደይ ዝኣኽሉ ንሃገርን ህዝብን ዝኾኑ ሰባት ኣጥፊእና ኣለና? ድሕሪ ሕቶ-ለውጢ ጉጅለ 15ን ካልኦት ንለውጢ ዝድግፉ ውልቀሰባትን ኤርትራ ኣበየናይ መዓሙቕ ኣትያ ኣላ? ልዕሊ 10,000 እሱራት እትውንን ሃገር፣ ብኣሻሓት ዝቑጸሩ ብቐሊሉ ክትረኽቦም ዘይትኽእል ምሁራት፣ ኣብ ክንዲ ዓዶም ዝሃንጹን ህዝቦም ዘገልግሉን ኣብ ፈቀዶ ናይ ምዕራብ ሃገራት ዝዘረወት ሃገር፣ ምስ ቁጽሪ ህዝባ ኣነጻጺርካ ዝበዝሑ ስደተኛታት ዘለዋ ሃገር ወኒንካ ካብ ምኻድ ንላዕሊ ኢሳያስ እንታይ ክገብረና ንጽበ? እዚ ኩሉ ካብ ስራሕ ጎዲሉ ባኺኑ ተሪፉ ዘሎ ኤርትራዊ፣ ኣብ መዓላ ህዝብን ሃገርን ውዒሉ ኔሩ እንተዝኸውን ኤርትራ ሎሚ ኣበይ ምበጸሐት? ሓደ ድሕሪ ሓደ ብተርታ ካብ እንጠፍእ ሆሆ ኢልና ብሓንቲ መዓልቲ’ዶ ነዚ ዓሻ ስርዓት ምብራር ኣይምሓሸናን?
ሕጂ’ውን ከም ትማሊ እዚ ናይ 21 ጥሪ (ስርሒት ፎርቶ) ሰባት ክበልዕ ጀሚሩ’ሎ። እቲ ትማሊ ንጉጅለ 15 ‘ከሓድቲ ሃገር’ ኢሉ ዝኸሰሰ መስጦፋን፣ ኣብ ጽንኩር ኩነት ‘ርዒዶም’ ኢሉ ዘእወየ ዓብደላ ጃብርን ሎሚ ብ‘’እስላማዊ ጥሩፍነት’ ክኽሰሱ ንሰምዕ ኣለና። እቲ በዚኦም ጀሚሩ ዘሎ ምእሳርን ምሕቃቕን ደቂ ሃገር ሕጂ’ውን ወሰን ኢሉ ኣብ ካልኦት ክልሕም ኢዩ። ከምቲ ናይ ኣመሪካ ናይ 9/11 ኣጋጣሚ እንተተረኺቡ እሞ ከኣ፣ ናይ ዓለም ኣቓልቦ ናብኡ ስለዝኸይድ፣ ህዝቢኤርትራ ብምልኡ ከይእሰር የስግእ ኢዩ። ስለዚ እቶም ፍትሒ ዝሕላገትና፣ ሕጂውን ከምትማሊ እቶም ተኣሲሮም ዝበሃሉ ኣብ ቅድሚ ሕጊ ቀሪቦም ክሶም ክምልሱ እምበር፣ መቓልሕ ኢሳያስ ክንመልስ ከቶ ኣይትጸበዩና ንበሎም። ምኽንያቱ ኩሉ ግዜ ዝደናገር ሰብ የለን። ከምቲ ደረጀ ኢትዮጵያ ብሰንኪ መንግስቱ እያ ተረኹምሻ ዝበላ፣ ሕጅውን ኤርትራ ብሰንኪ ኢሳያስ ጥራሕ ኢያ ትርኹመሽ። ዕድል ጌራ ኢትዮጵያ ብኤርትራውያንን ኢትዮጵያውያንን ካብ ምርኹማሽ ድሒና ኣላ። ኤርትራ ኣየናይ ዕጫ ኢዩ ክበጽሓ ጽባሕ ዘይኮነ ሎሚ ምሕሳብ ከድልየና ኢዩ። እዛ ኣብ ፎርቶ ዝተወለዐት ሽግ እንተደኣ ክትቅህም ሱቕ ኢልና ሪኢናያ፣ ነዛ ሕጂ ጀሚሮማ ዘለዉ ረሳሕ ካርታ ካብ ምንብልባል ዓዲ ኣይክውዕሉን ኢዮም። ኣብዚ ሓሸውየ’ዚ ኣቲኻ ምኹዳድ ድማ ንኢሰያስ ምድሓን እምበር ከቶ ንኤርትራ ምድሓን ኣይኮነን። ስለዚ ዝጠፈአ ምስጠፈአ ናይዚ ኩሉ ዕንወት ተሓታቲ ኢሳያስ ኢዩ ኔሩ ካብ ምባል፣ ሕጂ ከሎ ገና ናይዚ ኹሉ ጥፍኣት ተሓታቲ ንስኻ ኢኻ’ሞ ውረድ ንበሎ።

A worker was abused by his boss both verbally and physically to find himself surprised and disappointed when the abuse stopped for a while. He had been conditioned to accept the offense as gratuity for his servitude or as approval to his productivity and associated the break with his unacceptable performance.
• The blind supporters of the regime will never get enough of Afwerki’s abuse because they are conditioned to feel useless without. Their empty mind has nothing to produce and only waits for thinking analysis to take place in Afwerki’s mind so that they can broadcast the result everywhere. Worthlessness is associated with their existence: they must have their doze of abuse for their lives to feel meaningful. They are addicted to humiliation and can not accept equality with the boss and speak their mind (whatever that mind is worth for). Afwerki knows this very well and continues to give them their fix to keep them around. He does not appreciate their intelligence and hummers that insecure head with the language it understands: more abuse and humiliation. You give a dog a piece of meat to bark around and you humiliate a blind Afwerkist to keep him around: Afwerki perfectly applies this logic on his useless followers.
• Apparently, we are similar to other materials on earth. A human being is after all a molecule composed of oxygen, hydrogen and carbon atoms for the most part that gets affected by environmental and circumstantial factors like any MATER there is. When a mind is unused for a long time, it rusts; when it is denied the freedom of exposure to other ideas through freedom of speech by the self or by authority, it remains static in substance. It loses its creativity and becomes a passive partner with no other role in society than listening to the boss: a mere receiver like a radio. A person in this condition lives at a lower level of one’s potential. Add a little humiliation and bullism here and there from the boss to that, the stagnant mind loses its composure and the minute level of confidence left within; completely surrendering to absolute dictation. The psychological state of a person in this condition should then be dull and monotonous: a conformist mind conditioned to paraphrase what has been said or to read what has been written like a transmitting antenna in a communication link.
• The president by the way is highly emotional; has physically attacked one of his men in a public bar once upon a time in the Eritrean experience: he was drunk. THE VICTIM ACCEPTED IT AS PRESIDENTIAL SLAP AND MOVED ON. I also know from first hand information that two lower officials had critically bitten a Minister (Naizghi Kiflu) up in a bar in downtown Asmara. All this hooliganism in public, I suppose reflects the president’s sociological outlook overall and his refusal to conform to the universal presidential code of conduct. The president wants to have the cake and eat it too: to be ordinary and a leader concurrently.
• To my research, there exist at least two ways of controlling people:
• Blackmailing: “is the crime of threatening to reveal damaging or embarrassing information in order to [earn] cooperation out of the victim. For blackmail to be effective, the blackmailer must, in most cases, have physical proof of the information he or she threatens to reveal, such as photographs or letters. Blackmail [] in this sense [] may rely on a threat of action other than exposing the victim’s secrets.”
• Although this tactic should certainly have been used through out the Eritrean experience, I do not personally think it is any longer practical in Eritrea. The president does not have to do anything in order to eliminate a person because he dictates the Eritrean life absolutely. Like in Sadam’s Iraq and Kadaffi’s Libya, this criminal method of achieving cooperation does not work in Afwerki’s Eritrea, where there is no transparent communication between the leader and the people because of the monopolized media and press in the country. Meles Zenawi, however, used blackmailing as one of his best tactics of sidelining (NOT ELIMINATING) his opponents in few events: he jailed his first deputy prime minister through the blackmail of CORRUPTION in the nineties and used it on SIYE ABRAHA to neutralize him from his political circle, to state the least.
• Psychological manipulation: “also known as emotional manipulation, is a form of persuasion. It can involve brainwashing or bullying, and is usually deceptive or abusive in nature. It typically uses various forms of abuse, such as emotional blackmail[ing (inculcating fear and insecurity)]” and verbal abuse.” Manipulative people may lack appropriate sensitivity and caring for others, or they may believe that manipulating others is the best way to get what they want. Manipulative people may be afraid to form healthy relationships, or afraid of not being accepted. Manipulative behaviors often stem from an inability to accept responsibility for one’s own life, problems, and behaviors. Psychological manipulation tactics are often employed in an attempt to foist that responsibility off on others.”
• DISKELA (freezing) is a Maoist method of psychological manipulation: demoralizing a suspect by means of paying the person for uselessness. Such a person is fired from the post without one’s knowledge. The salary is paid fully and the office is open for the person but no one at work communicates with him. He gets the point after a lot of humiliation behind his back. The person is also restricted from working another job and moving around at will. Most victims end up frustrated and resolve the problem by means of boozing. This is killing a person’s substance by mental emasculation. No one wants to be in this situation. Such a person is willing to do anything after that to prove his obedience to the boss.
• Manipulatively controlling people is of course way of life in the Eritrean government circle. Mr Afwerki may not be that intelligent and highly educated but is a master of manipulation because he is obsessively controlling. Once again, these “behaviors often stem from an inability to accept responsibility for one’s own life and problems. ” He can not control his life and he controls other lives in revenge. I call people like Afwerki Explosive Sufferers in my coming book “SPIRITUAL ENGINEERING”(though I do not discuss him there); meaning that they are too cold to care for anyone. They suffer internally and they cause extreme suffering externally as a result. They explode: they radiate negative energy to the atmosphere or dissipate their internal inferno on society.
• Because of fear and opportunism, the Eritrean officials including Girma Asmerom are tightly controlled through the president’s meticulous psychological manipulation.

• GIRMA ASMEROM IN AU (Africa Union)
• Our representative attended the latest AU summit in Addis: According to the government of Eritrea’s Press Release; ” Ambassador Girma calls on the AU to pay serious attention to implementation of EEBC ruling”, Asmara, 30 January 2013; in Shabait; –
• “Eritrea’s Ambassador to the African Union (AU), Mr. Girma Asmerom, has called on the Union, as one of the guarantors of the Algiers Agreement of December 2000, to pay serious attention to the implementation of the Eritrea-Ethiopia Boundary Commission (EEBC)’s final and binding ruling.”
Comment
I thought this idea was monotonously exhausted in such a forum for any audience to be excited about. Did not the universe pay too much attention to implement it to the extent of deploying 4000 UN supervised international forces in the country a long time ago? Did not the universe walk passed that experience already (because of the regime’s extremely rigid and destructive diplomacy) and conditioned to desperately wait for a miracle to permanently close this very direct and simple political business? Afwerki kicked out the UN officers before completing the job just because they did not do it punctually as a result of Ethiopian reluctance to give back Badme without dialogue with Eritrea. What does he want now and can he be specific?
Eritrea on the podium continues;
“Ambassador Girma made the call in a speech he delivered at the African Union Summit which convened in Addis Ababa on 28 January 2013. He emphasized that despite the fact that the Eritrea-Ethiopia border issue has reached legal conclusion in accordance with the EEBC’s ruling on the basis of the Algiers Peace Agreement, sovereign Eritrean territories, including the town of Badme, still remain under Ethiopian occupation, thus attesting to the AU’s failure to live up to its responsibility. Ambassador Girma further reminded the Union to play its due role as regards bringing an end to Ethiopia’s continued occupation of sovereign Eritrean territories, and thereby promote peace and stability in the entire Horn of Africa region.”
Comment
Everybody knows that the Eritrea-Ethiopia border issue has reached legal conclusion but here is the Question: What does Girma want the AU to do? Return Badme by fighting or by diplomacy? AU accepts the Algers Agreement like any other nation and organization in the world; the UN, USA, EU EGAD included. By this, AU fully carried its responsibility; the rest is our diplomatic responsibility ladies and gentlemen!!! AU has no answer to the Eritrean issue that has already been answered way back in 2000. Brother Girma was, therefore a little backward in psychological time in this scenario.
I stand willing to be corrected but I believe the only country that does not want to resolve the Badme crisis is Eritrea, needless to state that Ethiopians must eventually return Badme to its owner Eritrea and most likely peacefully and diplomatically. They know this very well. This remains to be the first national assignment of any visionary leader after Afwerki who failed to solve the problem by force and by diplomacy (the only means of resolving such a problem).
NEGOTIATION
Conventionally, one does not negotiate with an ally but with an enemy. The concept of negotiation was created to settle the difference between two opposing sides (all inclusive) by means of dialogue AND compromise rather than by means of violence. But the Eritrean president does not want to talk to the Ethiopians; how then can the Ethiopians give Badme back to Eritrea? Should the international community airlift and drop it in Asmara in the absence of a diplomatic receiver from the Eritrean government? Badme is a RealEstate that can not be delivered by mail or a Messenger. Someone from our country must sit down to sign the relevant documents associated with reintegrating it to its motherland Eritrea. This is what the Eritrean government is refusing to do.

“Hailemariam Desalegn, Ethiopia’s prime minister, has said that he is willing to hold talks with neighboring Eritrea, with whom Addis Ababa fought a border war that ended in 2000. “If you ask me, ‘Do you want to go to Asmara and sit down and negotiate with Isaias Afwerki?’ Then, I will say yes’,” Hailemariam said in an interview with Al Jazeera to be broadcast on Saturday.
“The most important thing for us is to fight poverty … to have regional integration. If we two do that, it will be much more productive,” Hailemariam added.
“My predecessor Meles Zenawi had asked for more than 50 times even to go to Asmara and negotiate with Mister Isaias Afwerki,” he said.”"

The Ethiopian Prime Minister indicated that Ethiopians are focused on fighting poverty and regional integration based on transparent socio-economical factors. The country’s vision on the ground testifies to this statement. There is no secret to the thought that they want to use our ports for money and negotiate this along side the process by which Badme comes home to Eritrea. Is not this what we Eritreans want too? Don’t you want to get paid in millions of dollars from Ethiopians for using our ports? Whether we like it or not Ethiopians have the right to use our ports by agreement with any Eritrean government like they have the right to use port Djibouti by agreement with the government of Djibouti.
We own the ports but we can not deny our neighbor Ethiopia access to the sea as long as it conforms to a mutually beneficial deal, meaning that they will pay to use our ports like they do it with Djibouti for civilian and commercial purposes. Any landlocked country has after all the right to use the ports of a neighboring country by agreement (there are 48 landlocked countries in the world that survive by applying this civilized understanding). In our case, Ethiopians further want to secure peace out of the proxy war going on for years by the two countries through negotiation. Is not this what we want too; so that our business people can benefit from the big market in Ethiopia should Eritrea decide to adapt peaceful coexistence and a free market economic policy in the future?
MONOTONOUS DECEPTION THAT DOES NOT WORK IN TODAY’S REALM OF ERITREAN PUBLIC AWARENESS
The turn of events concerning the issue convinces me that the Eritrean government is still trying to distort the truth here telling its blind followers that Ethiopians have a hidden agenda on our ports that they want to spell out in the so called negotiation process. The question is; what if this was the case? In what way can this ‘anticipated Ethiopian tendency’ affect the fate of Badme and our ports when the so called negotiation ought to be conducted with Eritrea’s absolute freedom to reject it if necessary? Ethiopians can talk whatever they want in such a dialogue and I keep going rejecting what I do not like if I had that responsibility; PERIOD: would not you?
By all logical means; Eritrea’s ownership of the sea and the ports has already been assured through the following legal procedures and no Eritrean political group or individual should be insecure of this!!
1) Eritrean/Yemeni agreement provoked by the Hanish Island crisis. The outcome of this conflict has assured Eritrea to legally own its share of the RED SEA and ISLANDS by universal understanding.
2) The border interface between Djibouti and Eritrea, and that between the Sudan and Eritrea assures us the legal ownership of our sea coast, the islands and the ports by universal consensus.
3) The Algers agreement with Ethiopia and the international verdict at the HAGUE guarantee Eritrea’s ownership of its share of the Red Sea, the ports and islands through the signatures of Prime Meles Zenawi and at least that of the US, African Union and UN representatives’ on the binding legal document in discussion.
Therefore;
The Eritrean nationhood with its current geographic look is irreversible by force or by conspiracy for ever. The boundaries have been demarcated already. All Eritrea needs now is a devoted leadership that secures peace and Badme through negotiation with Ethiopia. Brother Girma Asmerom’s speech on this subject at the AU was, thus, respectfully nagging, boring and static in flavor that can only originate from a rigidly centralized mind somewhere else: A mind as such stagnates the flow of life itself. It kills the essence of time in society; lacks creativity, dwelling on the same expired and out-of-sink rhetoric with reality. In so stating, I do not think poor Girma was allowed to articulate his thoughts of the issue to the degree of comfortable subjective representation; not in this absolute dictatorship environment!! The brother, nevertheless, appeared to have duplicated the mind of the central command in beautiful Asmara stressing;
“that the Eritrea-Ethiopia border dispute has been resolved through the Final and Binding arbitration ten years ago, the Eritrean Ambassador to the AU underscored that the problem has nothing to do with the issue of “political will” or “dialogue.” As such, attempts to push the two parties to go back to so-called “dialogue and the negotiating table” are but acts designed to derail and frustrate the legally and conclusively resolved border issue. ”
Comment
I partially agree with Girma in that dialogue has nothing to do with the border issue but again it does. A smart politician would convert it to hit his objective. What is wrong with having a dialogue and using it to achieve the goal (returning Badme) instead of wasting the opportunity otherwise for no result? Is not this the same failed diplomatic path that has been over-used by the government to suppress the democratic and justice demands of our country?
CONCLUSION
To rap it up; Eritrea’s unflinching mentality will continue to hold Eritreans hostage as long as the society tolerates it. What it is that the regime does not want to close the border issue formally because this will open the door for many other pending issues veiled by its Badme excuse to the open. It is sticking to the dead case (border issue) not to implement the constitution because Afwerki will lose power by popular vote in fair election. He is afraid to face the outcome of his many political miscalculations since the last 14 years, such as the consequence of his injustice on many Eritrean prisoners. In this issue, he is in crossroads; he can not release prisoners because quiet a few of them have died in custody and their issues will come to the surface as a result. In the flip of it, he can no longer continue to rule by force without addressing this issue. He is confused but focused on only one thing: his power. The country is not running efficiently to my understanding but in fragmentation based only on how to keep him there without anything else to do. Keeping him in power with nothing else considered important has become the national policy and the political vision of the country at this juncture in the Eritrean experience.
I, likewise see the people’s situation in another version of cross roads: they can no longer sustain the pressure of absolute dictatorship without compromising their nationhood and he will never leave them alone willingly. Apparently, the world has stopped Afwerki from being adventurous elsewhere but no one can change the redundant Eritrean reality except Eritreans. This necessitates an all inclusive (internal + external) united front comprising all resistance groups based on honest desire to challenge the task completely free of domination. Let intellectuals, academicians and the people involve freely in public debates to exchange ideas and to cultivate qualified leadership that can represent the society in the universal arena. Eritreans must stop yearning for leadership individually or in group and concentrate on creating a conducive environment for all to exchange ideas on issues concerning the country publicly and internationally without prejudice and pretension.

ስርዓት ህግደፍ፡ ሓሚሙ ጽዑቕ ክንክን እናተገብረሉ ከምዝዓረፈ ኳ እንተገለጸ፡ ኣብ ቀረባ እዋን ናብ ማእከላይ ምብራቕ ገይሹ ሕክምናዊ መርመራ ገይሩ ከምዝነበረን ዕቱብ ጥዕናዊ ጸገማት ከምዘይነበሮን ብቐረባ ነቲ ኩነታት ብቐረባ ዝፈልጡዎ ምንጭታት ሓቢሮም።
ብዛይካ’ዚ እቶም ንስራሕ ምስ ወፈረ ሞቱ ዝተረድኡ ስድራቤቱ፡ ሬሳ ስጋኦም ክወሃቦም ኳ እንተሓተቱ፡ “መቕላስትና እዩ፡ መንግስቲ ብስነስርዓት ክቐብሮ እዩ” ብምባል፡ እቲ ስርዓት፡ ብዘይንቡር ፍጥነት፡ ካብ ዕለተ ዕረፍቱ ንጽብሓይቱ ብሃታ ሃታ ቀቢሩዎ።
ውልቀምልካዊ ስርዓት ኢሳይያስ፡ ንዘስግኡዎ ሓያለ ሓለፍቲ ብዝተፈላለየ ሜላታት ብቓጻ እናቐተለ፡ ከም ሓርበኛታት ተዋስኦ ስነስርዓት ቀብሪ ከምዘይካየደሎም ይፍለጥ።
ክቡራት ተኸታተልቲ ኣሰና፡ ዝተማልአ ሓበሬታ ኣብ ዝረኸብናሉ እዋን፡ ምዕባሌታቱ ኣብ ቀጻሊ ተወሳኺ ሓበሬታ ከነስዕበልኩም ኢና።
ንጽህና ናይቶም ብኸምዚ ዝኣመሰለ ውዲት ዝሓቁ ኤርትራውያን፡ ከምኡ ‘ውን ተንኮል ናይቲ ኣኩይ ስርዓት ኢሳይያስ ተቐቢሩ ከይነብር፡ ኣብ እዋኑ ክስነድ መታን፡ ኣብ ኣማውታ ኮለኔል ዓብድራሕማን ማሕሙድ ጃሲር ናይ ቀረባ ኣፍልጦ ዘለኩም ዜጋታት ኣብ ምስናዱን ንህዝቢ ኣብ ምዝርግሑን ግቡእ ተራኹም ክትጻወቱ ነዘኻኽር።
ሳላ ፈንቅል ሰሚሩላ ኣስመራ፡ ሳላ ፎርቶ ባጽዕ ተማሒራ
ብ1990፡ ወደብና ምጽዋዕ፡ በቶም ቅያ ስርሒት ፈንቅል ዝሰርሑ ምዑታት ተጋደልቲ ህዝባዊ ሰራዊት ሓርነት ኤርትራ ካብ ስርዓት ደርግ ሓራ ኣብ ዝኾነትሉ እዋን፡ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ባና ናጽነት ርእዩ ዘይተርፍ ዓወቱ ከቋምት ከሎ፡ ስርዓት ደርግ በንጻሩ ማሕነቕቲ ጎሮርኡ ተኣሚኑ ክንሱ ነቲ ዘይተርፍ ዕለተ ውድቀቱ ከናውሕ ናይ ጻዕረሞት ክርክር ኣየቋረጸን። ድሕሪ 23 ዓመት ድማ፡ ሎሚ፡ ነቲ ካብ መግዛእቲ ምልካዊ ስርዓት ኢሳይያስ ክላቐቕ ሃንቀው ዝብል ዘሎ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ተመሳሳሊ ፍናን ኣስኒቓቶ ‘ላ። ሽዑ፡ እቲ ንባጽዕ ዘሐረረ ስርሒት ፈንቅል፡ ቅድመ ኩነት ሓርነት ኣስመራ እንተነይሩ፡ ሎሚ ዘበን ድማ፡ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ቅድመ ኩነት ሓርነት ባጽዕ ኮይኑ ‘ሎ። እቲ ብስስዐ ስልጣን ዝዓበደ ኢሳይያስ፡ ብስርሒት ፎርቶ ስለዝረዓደ ካብቲ ጥልመት ሰማእታት ሰሊና ከየሰከፎን ከየሕፈሮን ኣብ ልዕሊ’ቲ ጨው ዝበልዖ መቓብሮም ኣራጢጡ፡ ዓመት መጸ ብብድዐ ዘስምዖ ዝነበረ መደረ ዓጀውጀው ንፈለማ ግዜ ቦዅሩ። እቲ ናይ ቀደም ኵናት፡ እዚ ናይ ሎሚ ተቓውሞ ብምዃኑ ንገለ ገርሀኛታት እዚ ክልቲኡ ፍጻሜታት ምናልባት ዘይጋጠም ክመስሎም ይኽእል ይኸውን። ኣተኵሮና ግን እቲ ኣገባብ ዘይኮነስ እቲ ውጽኢት እዩ። ክልቲኦም ንዓመጽቲ መልእኽቲ ስዕረት ዘርድኡ፡ ነቲ ውጹዕ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ተስፋ ዓወት ዘበሰሩ ኣጋጣሚታት እዮም።
ውልቀመላኺ ኢሳይያስ፡ ኣብ ድሮ ስርሒት ፈንቅል፡ ከምቲ ተቐበልቱ ከሀንጢ ብዘቕጸልጽል መጠረዚ ተሸፊኑ ዝቕመጥ ህያብ ልደት፡ ያኢ ዘረብኡ ክሰምዕ ሃረር ዝብል ህዝቢ ተሪፉዎ ከምዘሎ፡ ኣብ ሓንቲ ካብተን ንንቡር መዓልታት ስርሑ ተኪኤን ዘለዋ ናይ ዝርጋን መዓልታት ዝተላዕለት፡ በታ ስኽራን ዘበራበሮ ፍሽኽታ እንተንጸባርቕ ሕዳርያ (ናይ ቀደም) ስእሉ ተኸዊሉ፡ ድሕሪ ሰለስተ ሰሙን ናይቲ ብ21 ጥሪ 2013 ኣብ ፎርቶ ኣስመራ ዝተኻየደ በርቃዊ ስርሒት ጀጋኑ ሓይልታት ምክልኻል ኤርትራ ንለውጢ፡ ብሳልሳይ ኣካል ኣቢሉ ኣብ ቲቢ-ኤረ ዘመሓላለፎ ጎናይ መልእኽቲ፡ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ “ኣይትሻቐል፡ ዘሰከፍ ነገር የለን” ክብል ተሰሚዑ። ኢሳይያስ ኣብ ስርሒት ፈንቅል ተረኺቡ ከም ቀደሙ ክምድር መደብ እንተዝነብሮ መቸም ነዚ መልእኽቲ ‘ዚ ብድሮ ስርሒት ፈንቅል ምፍናው ኣይመድለዮን። በቲ ኣቐዲሙ ዝዘርግሖ መግለጺ ከብኵር ምዃኑ እዩ ዝእምት ነይሩ። ብቐንዱ ካብቲ ዘረባ ዝተረኽበ ቁምነገር እንተነይሩ ግን፡ ብኣንጻር ናይቲ ቅሱን ክመስል ዝሓንጠጦ ወረቐት፡ እቲ ብወንጭፍ ናብ ተለቭዥን ዝለኣኾ ቃላት ስርሒት ፎርቶ ኣብ ዓጽሙ ኣትዩ ራዕራዕ ኣቢሉዎ ዘንጸባርቕ እዩ።
እቲ “ፕረዚደንት ‘የ” ብሃላይ፡ ኢሳይያስ፡ ንኽጽሕፎ ሰለስተ ሰሙን ዝወሰደሉ “መልእኽቲ” ቃል ንቓሉ ከምዚ ይብል፡-
“ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ ብዛዕባ ፍጻሜ 21 ጥሪ 2013 ዝኾነ ዘሰከፍ ከምዘይነበረን ከምዘየለን፡ ትም መበሊና ኸኣ፡ ሓርጭ ሓሰውቲ ክሳብ ዝፈኩስ ዕድል ክንህብ ስለዝመረጽና ኢዩ ክብል ገሊጹ። ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ንኤሪና ኣብ ዝሃቦ ሓበሬታ፡ ኣብ ቀዳሞት ሰዓታት ናይቲ ፍጻሜ፡ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ካብ ውሽጥን ወጻእን ካብ ሓልዮትን ስክፍታን ተበጊሱ ሓበሬታ ምድላዩ ባህርያዊ ምንባሩ ጠቒሱ፡ ተሃዊኽካ ናብ ግብረመልሳዊ መግለጺታት ምኻድ ካብ ፖለቲካዊ ባህልና ወጻኢ ምስ ምዃኑ፡ ሳዕቤኑ ኣብ መኣዲ ውዱቓትን ተጻባእትን ተኣንጊድካ፡ ንዝደለዩዎ ምቅላሕን ቆይቍ ምድማቕን ስለዝኸውን፡ መንግስቲ ኤርትራ፡ መግለጺ ክህብ ከምዘይመረጸ፡ ሰዓቱ ምስ ኣኸለ ግና ክሕበር ምዃኑ ኣነጺሩ። ፕረዚደንት ኢሳይያስ ኣብ መወዳእታ፡ ዝኾነ ዘሰከፍ ጉዳይ ስለዘይነበረን ስለዘየለን ኣይትሻቐሉ” ኢሉ።
ጋዶ ዝብሉኹም ከምዚ እዩ። ዕላምኡ ሻቕሎት ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ምውጋድ እንተዝነብር፡ እንተደንጎየ ካብ ሳልስቲ ክሓልፍ ኣይነበሮን። ብዓቢኡ ሓልዮት ህዝቢ ኤርትራ እንተዝነብሮ ኸኣ፡ ነቲ ምእንቲ ሰላምን ራህዋን ፍትሕን ማህጸኑ ጸንቂቑ ዘወፈየ ውጹዕ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብታንክን ኣፈሙዝን ተሰንዩ ክሳብ ምዝራብ ከብጽሖ ኣይምተገብአን። ብኣግኡ ካብ ስልጣን ክእለ ነይሩዎ። ሻቕሎት ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኢሳይያስ ንገዛእ ርእሱ እዩ። እቲ ቀንዲ፡ ኢሳይያስ፡ ኣብ ሕልምን ሃለውሳን ይነብር ምህላዉ ዘመልክት ጸገም ግን፡ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ክሳብ ሕጂ እንታይ ከምዘሻቕሎን ከምዘቕስኖን ክመሚ ኣጸጊሙዎ ምህላዉ እዩ። ብናይ 21 ጥሪ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ዝተሻቐለን ዝተሓጎሰን ወገን መን ምዃኑ ብልክዕ ክፈልጥ ዘይምኽኣሉ፡ ዕብዳኑ ካብ መዓልቲ ናብ መዓልቲ እናዓበየ ይኸይድ ምህላዉ ጥራይ እዩ ዝምስክር። ዕቡድ መሪሕነት ኢሳይያስ ክቕጽል ዕድል እንተተዋሂቡዎ፡ ጥፍኣት ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ማዕሪኡ ዝተጋነነ ከምዝኸውን ድማ ደጊምስ ዝስሕቶ የለን።
ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ክትንስእን ክድቅስን፡ ዘዘውትሮ ዘሎ ጸሎት ምምሳል ደንጕዩዎ፡ ምድሪ ብቐትሩ፡ ኣብ ማእከል መንገዲ ናብ ሰማይ ኣንቃዕሪሩ፡ “ኣንታ ኣምላኽ፡ ካብዚ ቐዛፊ ኤርትራ ‘ባ ኣድሕነና” እናበለ ብሕሱም ሃንቀውታ ስለ ራህዋን ለውጥን ለመናኡ ከብጽሕ ከህተፍትፍ ጀሚሩሉ ኣብ ዘሎ ምረቱ ዝሓለፎ ዘበን፡ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ብኸምዚ ዝኣመሰለ ድራማዊ መልክዕ ሃንደበት ምስተጋህደ፡ ኣብ ከውታ ለይቲ ጸሓይ ከምዝበረቐትሉ፡ ብስራት፡ ሓጎስ፡ ፍስሃ፡ ደስታ ተሰሚዑዎ ኣፍ-ልቡ ደኣ ካብ ከበሮ ንላዕሊ ሃረመ እምበር፡ ኣይተሻቐለን። እቲ ውጹዕ ህዝቢ፡ ሓጎስ ብሓጎሱ ልቢ ዝስንጥቕ ሓጎስ ዝረኽበሉ ምኽንያት ከኣ፡ እቶም ኣንጻር ኢሳይያስ ተቓውሞ እንተልዓለ፡ “ረሸንቲ ወተሃደራት ደኾን ይእዝዙለይ” ኢሉ ብዓይኒ ጥርጠራ ዝርእዮም ዝነበረ ኮለኔላት፡ ኣብተን መጨፍለቒኡ ከይኮና ዝፈርሐን ታንክታት ተወጢሖም፡ ኣብታ ወትሩ መትከሊት ባንዴራኡ ዝምነያ ፎርቶ ኣስመራ፡ ንድሕነቱ ዓሪዶም ምውዓሎም እዩ። ዘጋጠሞ መኻልፍ ብዘየገድስ፡ ኣብ ፎርቶ ዝተወልዐ ሽግ ሓርነት፡ ቅሂሙ ንዝነበረ ተስፋ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ዝመለሰ፡ “ኣንታ ‘ዛ ሃገር ‘ባ ሰብ ኣለዋ” ዘበሎ፡ ውዕሎ ጀጋኑ ስለዝኾነ፡ መጀመርያ እምበር መወዳእታ ምንቅስቓስ ንለውጢ ኣይኮነን። ብልክዕ፡ በዚ ሓዱሽ ፖለቲካዊ ምዕባሊ’ዚ ተሻቒሉ ዘሎ እምብኣር መላኺ ኢሳይያስ ኣፈወርቂ እዩ።
ኢሳይያስ፡ ስርሒት ፎርቶ፡ መጀመርያ ናይ መወዳእትኡ ምዃኑ ካብ ማንም ንላዕሊ ተገንዚቡ፡ ኣመና ተሻቒሉ፡ ነውጺ ኣእምሮኡ ወሲኹ፡ መሕብኢኡ ጨኒቑዎ ከምዘሎ ዘረጋገጽ ድማ፡ ከምዚ ልዕሊ ኢልና ዝጠቐስናዮ፡ ኣብቲ ዋላ ከፊኡዎ ኸሎ፡ ህላዊኡን ጥንካሬኡን ንምርኣይ ዋላ ኢንፍዩዥን ኣብ ጅቡኡ ተኾልኵሉ ዝሳተፎ ዝነበረ ዓመታዊ ስርሒት ፈልቅል፡ ከም ቀደሙ ብየማነ ጸጋም ብሚኒስተራትን ጀነራላትን ተዓጂቡ ዘይምስታፉ እዩ።
እቲ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ንምብትታን ዝከኣሎ ዝገበረ፡ ንዝተረፈ ድማ “ድሕረይ ሳዕሪ ኣይትብቆላ” ኢሉ ከናቝቶ ተዓጢቑ ዘሎ ድሑር መራሒ-ጥፍኣት፡ ካብቲ ተሓቢኡሉ ዘሎ ውሻጠ፡ “ኣይትሻቐሉ” ዝብል መልእኽቲ ምዝርግሑ እምብኣር፡ በንጻሩ፡ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ከጸናንዕ ዘይኮነ፡ “ኣለኹ ገና፡ ኣይትደቅስ” ኢሉ፡ ከፈራርሖ፡ ከሻቕሎ እዩ ዝፍትን ዘሎ። ምኽንያቱ፡ ነዚ ዝሓለፈ ልዕሊ 20 ዓመታት ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ እናሻቐለ ኣብ ወንበር ዝተጻንሐ ተጻይ (vilian) እዩ።
ንመላእ መንእሰያት ኤርትራ ብስም ሃገራዊ ኣገልግሎት ጊላታቱ ብምግባር፡ ካብ ቤቶም ንደረት ዘይብሉ እዋን ኣዘናቢሉ፡ ንስድራቤታት ኤርትራ ሸቐልቀል ኣቢሉወን። ዓንዳሪ ኵናት ወሊዑ ህይወት ዓሰርተታት ኣሽሓት ኤርትትራውያን ብምህላቕ፡ ኣዴታት ኤርትራ ንኻልኣይ ግዜ ከምዝድርመማ ጌሩወን። ኣብዚ እዋን’ዚ ድማ፡ ብ ዓሻክሩን መሓዙቱ ራሻይዳን ኣብ ዕዳጋ መሸጣ ሰብ በደዊን ሲናይ ናይ ዝተሓየሩ ደቀን መርድእ ክሳብ ዝበጽሐን ወርቅን ገዛን ሸይጠን ይዕደያ ‘ለዋ። ሰማይ ዝሃገሩ ኢሳይያስ ከኣ፡ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ብሞት ናይዚ ህይወት እናዕደየ ደም ዘንብዖ ዘሎ ጫካን ከይሻቐል ያኢ፡ “ኣይትሻቐል!” ኢሉዎ፡ ወዳጀ!! ከምቲ ዚጀመሮ ሓደ ኣፊቱ ስቕታኡ ምቕጻል ኣይምጸልአን። እንተኾነ፡ ካላንደር ስርሒት ፈንቅል ከ ‘ሞ ብኸመይ ትሰገር!!
መቸም፡ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ምስ ተኸስተ፡ እቲ እኩይ ኢሳይያስ፡ ከም ኣመሉ፡ ነቲ ኣጋጣሚ ምስ መርገም ዝለሓዄ ምርቓ ክገብሮ፡ ነቲ እዋናዊ ሃገራዊ ሕቶታት ዘልዓለ ምንቅስቓስ ናይ ሓደ ወገን ኣምሲሉ ብምቕራብ፡ 80 ሚእታዊት በጺሑ ንዝነበረ ህዝባዊ ጽልኢ ናብ 50 ሚእታዊ ክመልሶ ተወናዊኑ፡ ርኹስ ፈተነ ኳ እንተካየደ፡ ህዝቢ ተንኮሉ ተገንዚቡ፡ ጽልኡ መሊሱ ናብ 90 ሚእታዊት ምስኣዕረጎ፡ እቶም ጥሩፋት ከምስሎም ዝሓሰበ ጀጋኑ ኮይኖም፡ ውዲቱ ኣብ ኢዱ ስለዝሓወዮ፡ ነቲ ፈለማ ተኣሚኑሉ ዝነበረ ፍጻሜ፡ “ጉዳይ ዝብሃል ኣይነበረን የለውን ‘ውን” ኢሉ ክኽሕዶ ይፍትን ኣሎ። ክሕደት ኢሳይያስ ብዘየገድስ ግን፡ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ኣብ ቃልሲ ንዲሞክራስያዊ ለውጢ ታሪኻዊ ሕላገት ኮይና ‘ላ።
እቲ ነዘን ዲሞክራሲ፡ ፍትሕን ሕግን ዝብላ ስልጡናት ቃላት ተጻውሮ ዘይብሉ፡ ኣሽንባይ ዶ ብኣፈሙዝን ታንክን ተሰንየን፡ ብኣፍ ሰበስልጣን መዛኑኡ ከም ቃላት ክመጻ ከለዋ ጥራይ ኳ ዕውልውል ዘብሎ ኢሳይያስ፡ 21 ጥሪ 2013 ኣብ ዝኸፍአ ወጥሪ የእትያቶ ‘ላ። እቲ ኢሳይያስ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ኣስፊኑዎ ዝነበረ ፍርሕን ሕድሕድ ዘይምትእምማንን ክስበር ጀሚሩ ‘ሎ። ሕጂ፡ ድሕሪ ‘ዘን ተሰይረን ዘለዋ ቀዳማይን ካልኣይን ድፋዕ ኢሳይያስ፡ ዝርከብ ኢሳይያስ ጥራይ እዩ። እግሪ ውጹዕ ሓፋሽ ኤርትራ ረጋጊጹዎ ክሓልፍ ምዃኑ ኸኣ ዘጠራጥር የለን።
ኢሳይያስ ብውዲት ዝርከብ ወሰኽ ዕድመ ስልጣን ጸጋ ዝቖጽሮ እንተኾይኑ ኣብኣ ትደዮ ነብሱን ታሪኹን ጥራይ እዩ ዘሕስም ዘሎ። ሎሚ፡ ሕልፈቱ ውዱእ ኮይኑ፡ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ብኣፈጻጽማ ድራማ ምዝዛም ምልካዊ ስርዓት ኢሳይያስ ክዛረብ ጀሚሩ ከምዘሎ ዘይተሰቆሮ እንተልዩ፡ መናውሒ እዝኒ ከድልዮ እዩ። ህዝበይ፡ “ዋይ ኣነ፡ ኣበይ ሞ ወዲ ዓሊ ሕሹኽ እንተዝብለኒ ነይሩ፡ ነገር ምተወደአ ነይሩ” እናበለት፡ ግንቦ ኢዳ ከም ማርቴሎ ኣትሪራ ብጣዕሳን ምስትንታንን ሰለፋ ክትሃርም ትውዕል ከምዘላ ክፈልጥ ኣለዎ። ኢሳይያስ፡ ከምቲ መውጽኢ ኣፍ ሰላማዊ ሰልፍታት ኤርትራውያን ኮይኑ ዘሎ፡ ነቲ ፎርቶ ዘይወደኣቶ፡ ኮምብሽታቶ ተረኪባቶ ከምዘላ፡ ጻዕሪ ለውጢ ዓቐበት ወዲኡ ቁልቁለት ሒዙ ከምዘሎ ኣጸቢቑ ክግንዘብ ይግባእ።
ካብዚ ኣብ ፎርቶ ዝተደግመ ጅግንነት ሓይልታት ምክልኻል ኤርትራ ግን ኢሳይያስ ጥራይ ኣይኮነን ክመሃር ዘለዎ። ህዝቢ ኤርትራ፡ ብፍላይ ድማ እዞም ኣብ ወጻኢ እንነብር ኤርትራውያን ‘ውን ሓላፍነትና ክንፍጽም ሃገራዊ ግዴታ ከምዘለና ክንዝክር ኣለና። ኣባላት ሓይልታት ምክልኻል፡ ብማእሰርትን መስዋእትን ከይጃጀዉ፡ ኣብ ሕምብርቲ ውልቀምልካዊ ስርዓት ኢሳይያስ ኮይኖም፡ “ይኣክል” እናበሉ፡ እዞም 10 ሽሕ ኪሎ ሜተር ርሒቕና ኣብ ውሑስ ሃገራት ስደት እንርከብ ዘለና ኤርትራውያን ኣብ ሰላማዊ ሰልፍታት ብኣሽሓት ደገፍና ንለውጢ ዘይንገልጸሉ ቅቡል ምኽንያት የልቦን። ኣብ ስደት ኴንና ክንገብራ እንኽእል እታ ዝነኣሰት ኣበርክቶ፡ ንስርዓት ኢሳይያስ ብጋህዲ ኴንንካ ከምዚ ንዝኣመሰለ ቅዱስ ምንቅስቓስ ደገፍካ ምግላጽ እዩ። ፍቕዲ ብኣማኢት ክተርፍ ኣለዎ። ቁጽርናን መንፈስናን፡ ነቲ ኣብ ውሽጢ ኤርትራ ዘሎ ናይ ለውጥን ሓርነትን ተስፋ መሊሱ ስለዘበራብሮ፡ ነዚ ፎርቶ ዘስነቐትና ስምረትን ሕድሕድ ምትእምማንን ዓቂብና፡ ትንኣስ ትዕበ እታ ክንገብራ እንኽእል ተወፋይነት ከነርኢ ይግባእ።
መቸም፡ ክሳብ ዓሚ፡ ኢሳይያስ፡ ንቕያ ስርሒት ፈንቅል ንብሕቱ ክውንኖ፡ ኣብ ቴለቭዥን፡ ስእሉ ኣብ ልዕሊ ብመውጋእቲ ዘይልለ ኣካላት ተጋደልቲ እናለጠፈ፡ ነቲ ጀጋኑ ብደም ኣብ ከውሒ ዝጸሓፍዎ ታሪኽ ብቐለም ክቕጥኖ፡ ኣብ ልዕሊ መቓብር ናይቶም ካብ ጨው ንላዕሊ ጥልመቱ ኣዕጽምቶም ዝበልዖ ሰማእታት ሰሊና ወንበሩ ተኺሉ፡ ነባርነቱ ኣብ ስልጣን ዘይብገር ምዃኑ ከርኢ ክጋደል ጸኒሑ እዩ። ሎሚ ግን፡ ነቲ ናብ ዘበን ገድሊ ተመሊሱ፡ “ ኣነ ኮ ‘የ በታኺ ስጋለት፡ ካብ ባዕዳዊ መግዛእቲ ኣውጺአ ሓርነት ከምዘልበስኩኹም ‘ባ ኣይትረስዑ፡ መግዛእቲ ወዲ ዓዲ ኸ እንታይ ከይብለኩም” ኢሉ ካብ ጥፍኣቱ ክኽወል፡ ከም ብዓቲ ታሪኽ ዝሃርፎ ዝነበረ ጽምብል ፈንቅል፡ ከም ዓመት ነዊሑዎ፡ መዓስ ከምዝውዳእ ሓርቢቱዎ ኩርኳሕ ኮይኑዎ ቀንዩ ‘ሎ። ሳላ ሻቕሎት ኢሳይያስ ብፎርቶ፡ ባጽዕ፡ ከም ኣመላ ቅድሚ ኣስመራ ናይ ምሕራር ኣኽሊል ኣይሰኣነቶን። ጽምብል ናይቶም ጀጋኑ ፈንቅል፡ ከምቲ ዘምሕረሉ ካብ ገጽ ናይቲ ጠላም ኢሳይያስ ሓራ ኮይኑ ውዒሉ። ሰራዊትን ህዝብን ኤርትራ፡ ቃጭል ሕድሪ ሰማእታቱ ኣብ ሓጺር ርሕቀት የዕቍቡ፡ ካብቲ ኣብ ዝኽረ ሰማእታቱ ዝሰምዖ ድምጺ ንላዕሊ ሕድሮም ይሰምዕ እንተልዩ ኸኣ፡ ከም ኣመለን፡ ለካቲት መፈወንታ፡ ግንቦት መደምደምታ ዘይኮናሉ ምኽንያት ከኣ የልቦን።

መራሒ ሰሜን ኮርያ ዝነበረ ዳግማዊ ኪም ኢል ጆንግ ምስ ሞተ ህዝቢ ሰሜን ኮርያ ኣብ ከቢድ ሓዘን ከም ዘሎ ዘርኢ ምስልታት ብመደበራት ቴሌቪዥን ሰሜን ኮርያን ቻይናን ናብ ዓለም ይፍኖ ከም ዝነበረ ዝዝከር እዩ። ፕረዚደንት ኪም ኢል ጆንግ ኣብ ልዕሊ ህዝቡ ሕልፍ ዝበለ ጭቈና ዝገብር ጸረ ህዝቢን ጸረ ደሞክራሲን መራሒ ብምንባሩ ብማሕበረሰብ ዓለም ብፍላይ ድማ ብኣሜሪካ ወትሩ ኢዩ ዝኹነን ዝነበረ። ዓሊ ዓብዱ ግን ነቲ ብሞት መራሒ ሰሜን ኮርያ ኣብ ኮርያ ተራእዩ ተባሂሉ ዝተፈነወ ናይ ሓዘን ሃዋሁ ናብ ረብሓ ስርዓት “ህግደፍ” ብምቕያር ነተን ወትሩ ንኢሳያስ ዝኹንና ሃገራት ምዕራብ ንምጥቃዕን ንስም ኢሳያስ ንምዕባይን ከም ጽቡቕ ኣጋጣሚ ክጥቀመሉ ሓሰበ። ስለዚ ድማ፡ “መራሒ ሰሜን ኮርያ ከምቲ በዓል ኣሜሪካ ዝብላኦ እንተዝነብር ደኣ ከመይ ኢሉ ህዝቡ ምስ ሞተ ይበኽየሉን ይሓዝነሉን ኣሎ!?” ዝብል ሕቶ ዘለዓዕል መደባት ብኹለን ማዕከናት ዜና ንኽመሓላለፍ ኣዘዘ። ቅኒት ናይቲ ክመሓላለፍ ዝደለዮ ትሕዝቶ መደባት ኪም ኢል ጆንግን ኢሳያስን ሃገራቶም ብኣሜሪካ ንኸይንብርከኻ መዘና ኣልቦ ተራ ዝጻወቱ ዘለዉ መራሕቲ ምዃኖም ዝገልጽ ነበረ። ብኡ መሰረት ድማ ኣብቲ እዋን ካብ ኣገልግሎት ዜና ሰሜን ኮርያ ዝዝርግሑ ዝነበሩ ናይ ፈጠራ ዜናታት ናብ ትግርኛ እናተተርጎሙ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ክቐርቡሉ ጀመሩ። ከም ኣብነት ንሓንቲ ካብተን ሽዑ ኣብ ናይ 26 ታሕሳስ 2011 ሕታም ጋዜጣ ሓዳስ ኤርትራ ዝወጸት ዜና ክጠቕሰልኩም። እዝከረኒ እታ ዜና ከም ዘላታ ካብ ሓዳስ ኤርትራ ተቘንጪላ ኣብ ኣሰና ወጺኣ ዝነበረት ኮይና መራሒ ሰሜን ኮርያ ኪም ኢል ጆንግ ካልኣይ፤ ቅድሚ ምዕራፉ ኣብ ዝነበረ ሒደት ደቓይቕ ኣብታ ሃገር ‘ወዝቢ’ ክትብሎም ዘየድፍሩ ኣገረምቲ ፍጻመታት ከም ዝተኸስቱ ብምግላጽ ነቲ ፍጻመታት ብኸምዚ ዝስዕብ ዘርዚራቶ ነይራ፦
“ኪም ጆንግ ቅድሚ ምዕራፉ ኣብታ ሃገር ዝረግፍ ዝነበረ ብርቱዕ ዉርጪ ብቕጽበት ክቋረጽ እንከሎ ኣብ ልዕሊ ‘ፓይክቱ’ ተባሂሉ ዝጽዋዕ ቅዱስ እምባ ዝነበረ ሰማያት ድማ ሃንደበት ናብ ቀይሕ ተለዊጡ። ብዘይካ’ዚ እቲ መራሒ ቅድሚ ዕረፍቱ ኣብ ዝነበራ ሒደት ደቓይቕ ኣብ ባቡር ተሰቒሉ ሰንጢቕዎም ዝሓለፈ ናብ በረድ ዝተለወጡ ቀላያት ብኡ ንብኡ ብርቱዕ ድምጺ ፈጢሮም ፈጋዕጋዕ ከም ዝበሉ፤ ብዝሒ ዘለወን ናይቲ ከባቢ ፍሉያት ኣዕዋፍ’ዉን ንሓወልቲ ወላዲ ናይቲ መራሒ ክኾላኦ ከም ዝወዓላ ኣገልግሎት ሰሜን ኮርያ ሓቢሩ።” እናበለ እቲ ዜና ትሕዝቶኡ ይዛዝም። ኣገልግሎት ዜና ሰሜን ኮርያ ከምዚ ዓይነት ዜና ክሰርሕ ከሎ ንኪም ኢል ጆንግ ካብ ተራ “ሰብ”ነት ኣውጺኡ መለኮታዊ ሓይሊ ዘለዎ ፍጡር ከምስሎ ስለዝደለየ እዩ። ነዚ ከምዚ ዓይነት ናይ ፈጠራ ዜና ናብ ትግርኛ ተርጒምካ ንህዝቢ ኤርትራ ምንጋር ግን እንታይ ማለት ከም ዝነበረ ፍሉጥ እዩ ነይሩ። ኢሳያስ’ዉን ልክዕ ከም መራሒ ሰሜን ኮርያ ብማሕበረሰብ ዓለም ኩኑን ስለዝኾነ ኣብ መንጎኡን ኣብ መንጎ ኪም ኢል ጆንግን ምምስሳላት ብምፍጣር፤ “ህዝቢ ሰሜን ኮርያ ጥራይ ዘይኮነ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ’ዉን ዘይከም’ቲ በዓል ኣሜሪካ ዝብልኦ ሞይቱ ዝሓዝነሉን እናበኸየ ዝቐብሮን መራሒ ዝተዓደለ ህዝቢ እዩ” ንምባል ነበረ።
ቅድሚ እዚ ፍጻመ’ዚ ላዕለዋይ ሓላፊ ኣልጀዚራ ኔትዎርክስ ዝነበረ ሚስተር ወዳሕ ኸንፈር ኣብ ኤርትራ ዑደት ብምግባር ንኣባላት ሚኒስትሪ ዜና ኣኼባ ገይሩልና ነበረ። ነቲ ኣኼባ ዓሊ ዓብዱን ሚስተር ወዳሕ ኸንፈርን ጎኒ ንጎኒ ኮፍ ኢሎም እዮም ኣካይዶምዎ። ኣብቲ ግዜ’ቲ ብዙሕ ነገር ተወርየ። “ሚኒስትሪ ዜና ምስ ኣልጀዚራ ኔትወርክ መስሪትዎ ዘሎ ዝምድና መቐጸልታ ናይቲ ብደረጃ መንግስቲ ምስ መንግስቲ ቐጠር ዘሎ ዱልዱል ዝምድና ስለዝኾነ ጽቡቕ ኣጋጣሚ እዩ” እናተባህለ ብዙሕ ተዘርበ። ድሕሪ’ቲ ምስ ሚስተር ወዳሕ ኸንፈር ዝተገብረ ርክብ ኣብ ዉሽጢ ክልተ ኣዋርሕ ኣብ ቴሌቪዥን ኣልጀዚራ ንኤርትራ ዝምልከት ሓደ ዶኲመንታሪ ፊልም ተፈነወ። ኣርእስቲ ናይቲ ፊልም “ኤርትራ፡ ኣፍሪቃዊት ሰሜን ኮርያ” ዝብል ነበረ። ሽዑ ኣብ ቤት ጽሕፈት ዓሊ ዝተፈጥረ ዕግርግር ሎሚ ኮይኑ ይረኣየኒ። “ኣልጀዚራ እንታይ ወሪድዎም!? ከመይ ገይሮም ንዓና ምስ ሰሜን ኮርያ የመሳስሉና። ንሕናን ስሜን ኮርያን’ዶ ሓደ ኢና!?” ዝብል ድምጽታት ተሰምዐ። ዓሊ ሓሲብዎ ዝነበረ “ምስ ኣልጀዚራ ዝምድና ስለዝተገብረ ኣብቲ ቴሌቪዥን ንስርዓት ህግደፍ ዘቃልዕ ሓበሬታ ኣይክወጽእን እዩ” ዝብል ግጉይ ግምት ነበረ። ብርግጽ ኣልጀዚራ ዝምድና ዝጸልእ ትካል’ኳ እንተዘይኮነ ንሓቂ ኣብ ዋጋ ዕዳጋ ኣእትዩ ምስ ሚኒስትሪ ዜና “ህግደፍ” ዝመሓዞ ትካል ግን ኣይኮነን።
እቲ ኣልጀዚራ ዘዳለዎ መደብ ምስ ተፈነወ ዓሊ ዓብዱ “ንሕናን ሰሜን ኮርያን ሓደ ኣይኮናን። ኩነታትናን ኩነታት ሰሜን ኮርያን ይትረፍ ክመሳሰል ዝቀራረብ’ዉን ኣይኮነን” እናበለ ከንጸርጽር ከም ዘይጸንሐ መራሒ ሰሜን ኮርያ ምስ ሞተ ግን ንኪም ኢል ጆንግን ኢሳያስን ኣመሳሲሉ ህዝቢ ከደዓዕስ ምፍታኑ ዝገርም እዩ። ፈቲና ጸሊእና ግን ሃገርና ኤርትራ ንጹል መንግስቲን ንጹል ሕብረተሰብን ዝነብረላ ዕጽዉቲ ሃገር ስለዝኾነት ምስ ሰሜን ኮርያ ትመሳሰል ጥራይ ዘይኮነ ንሰሜን ኮርያ’ዉን ትሓልፋ እያ። ዓሊ ግን ክሳብ ክንዲ’ዚ እዩ በታ ዘይተኸንሸበትን ፊደል “ረ” ኣጥዕያ ዘይተድምጽን ኮርታዕ ልሳኑ ገይሩ ህዝቢ ከደናግር ዝፍትን።
ዓሊ ዓብዱ በቲ ሸሓጢ ባህርያቱ ንኢሳያስ ከም ዘምልኾ ተዋስኦ ክገብር፤ ድምጻዊት ሄለን መለስ ኣብ በዓል ፈንቅል ዝደረፈታ ንጽል ዜማ ስሌኡ ከም ዝድረፈሉ ገይሩ እዩ። “ኣድሃ!” ዘርእስታ ዜማ! ትርጉም ‘ኣድሃ’ ኣብ ናይ ተክአ ተስፋይ መዝገበ ቃላት ትግርኛ ገንጺልኩም እንተትርእይዎ እዚ ኹሉ’ስ ንኢሳያስ ምበልኩም። ዓሊ ዓብዱ ከምቲ ቈልዑ ሃገርና ኣብ ግዜ በዓላት ገዛ ገዛ እናኸዱ ዝደርፍዎ “ኣያየ ወርቂ ስዓቱ ኦፔል እያ መዛወሪቱ” ዝዓይነቱ ደርፊ ንኢሳያስ ዘድረፈሉ ኮይኑ ምተሰምዓኩም። ግጥሚ ናይዛ ደርፊ መን ድዩ ደሪስዎ ዝብል ሕቶ ምስ እትሓቱ “ሰሎሞን ድራር” ዝብል መልሲ ክትረኽቡ ትኽእሉ ኢኹም። ቅድሚ ሓደ ዓመት ምስ ሬድዮ ወጋሕታ ኣብ ዝገበርኩዎ ቃለ መሕትት ንዓሊ ዓብዱን ሰሎሞን ድራርን “ኣብ Odd ሰዓታት እናተራኸቡ Odd ስራሕ ዝሰርሑ ናይ ተንኮል ኣዕሩኽ!” ብዝብል ቃላት ገሊጸዮም ነይረ። ስለዚ እታ ዜማ ዓሊ ዓብዱ ንስነ ጥበባዊ ዓቕሚ ሰሎሞን ድራር ተጠቒሙ ንኢሳያስ ዝወደሰላ ዜማ እያ ነይራ። ንምዝኽኻር ገለ መስመራት ግጥሚ እዛ ደርፊ ከምዚ ዝስዕብ ይብል፦

Eritrea’s president says no fear of unrest after army mutiny

(Reuters) – Eritrea’s President Isaias Afewerki sought on Monday to calm fears of unrest, and in his first reaction to the storming of the information ministry ago by dissident troops three weeks, blamed “bankrupt enemies” for being behind the attack.
Eritrean soldiers, backed by tanks, took over the ministry on January 21 and obliged the director general of state television to appeal for all political prisoners to be freed.
Calm soon returned in the capital, but Eritrean opposition activists in neighbouring Ethiopia say there is growing dissent within the army, Africa’s second biggest, over economic hardship.
The incident sparked protests by exiled Eritreans in Europe, who briefly occupied embassies in London, Rome and other cities last month to express support for the mutinous soldiers.
Isaias said his administration had chosen to remain silent to avoid “serving the ploys of bankrupt enemy quarters”.
“Entertain no worry at all, as there was, and does not exist, any reason for being apprehensive,” the information ministry website quoted him as saying on Monday.
Isaias did not disclose who was behind the plot, but said details would be provided “at an appropriate time”.
Eritrea has been led by Isaias, 66, for two decades. Although the renegade soldiers did not go as far as to demand his overthrow, the protest was a rare glimpse of public discontent in one of Africa’s most secretive states.
The fate of the dissident soldiers is not known and statements about the political situation inside Eritrea are hard to corroborate. But dissent inside the one-party state is typically dealt with harshly.
Between 5,000 and 10,000 political prisoners are held in the country of 6 million people, the United Nations human rights chief said last year, accusing Eritrea of torture and summary executions.
More than 1,000 Eritreans cross over to Ethiopia and a similar number go to Sudan each month to escape conscription and unlimited service in the army, according to figures from the U.N. refugee agency.
On a strategic strip of mountainous land along the Red Sea, Eritrea has more soldiers per person than any country except North Korea.

Israel accused of coercing Eritrean refugees to ‘volunteer’ for deportation
Local UN official, NGO claim Israel tells Eritrean nationals that they can either go back to home, where their lives would be in danger, or remain in jail.
Eritrean refugees imprisoned in Israel are being coerced into signing “voluntary” departure forms to return to Eritrea – where the UN says their lives would be in danger – or go to another country, according to the UN refugee agency here and the Hotline for Migrant Workers.
Local UN officials say the Eritreans are denied their right to seek asylum. They are being told they can either go back home or stay locked up in Israel for at least three years.
A group of Eritrean nationals is expected to be flown soon either to Eritrea or to another country willing to receive them, say officials who visited the prison near Kibbutz Mishmarot where they are being held. Israel has not confirmed this.
If the reports are true, this will be the first time Eritreans are returned at Israel’s initiative to their country, which the UN High Commissioner for Refugees has classified as a totalitarian state that severely violates human rights. The Eritrean government imprisons and tortures dissenters, drafts men into the army for decades, and has shut down human rights and non-governmental organizations.
Israel grants Eritreans group protection due to the situation in their country, although it does not recognize them as refugees. Israel does not deport the Eritreans because it has signed the United Nations Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.
Despite the UN’s position and Israel’s policy not to deport Eritreans, Israel maintains diplomatic relations with Eritrea and an Eritrean ambassador is stationed here.
A group of Eritreans who recently left the prison for one day reportedly said on their return that they had met the Eritrean ambassador in Israel. The Eritrean embassy refused to comment on the “voluntary return” scheme.
Foreign Ministry officials said there was “no legal obstacle to a person’s voluntary return to his country, if he wants to do so.”
According to the Population Registrar, Eritreans comprise more than 60 percent of the people who have entered Israel illegally.
Sharon Harel, a senior UNHCR official, told Haaretz the UNHCR’s main fear is that many Eritreans are not given the option to ask for asylum.
Until last June, Eritrean and North Sudanese nationals who entered Israel were released from prison. Since then the law has been amended to enable the authorities to incarcerate African migrants and refugees for three years or more.
“We are concerned that people who fear persecution if they return to their homeland want to ask for asylum are not permitted to do so,” she says.
“In practice, they are not given an option for asylum. On the other hand, the people are held in prison, while the immigration officials offer them either to ‘leave voluntarily’ or remain at least three years in prison,” she says.
“People call us alarmed over the very idea of returning to Eritrea. They have no hope of being released, they don’t know [asylum] is an option at all, or that if they applied and it wasn’t considered they are entitled to be released,” she says.
Gabriel Tatela of Hotline for Migrant Workers recently visited the prison. “Officials told the people they have two possibilities – either to sign a ‘voluntary return’ or stay in prison at least three years,” he says.
He said one Eritrean prisoner told him, “‘Today they called me and gave me a handwritten form in Tigrinya [Eritrea's predominant language], saying ‘I came from Eritrea to Israel illegally and now I want to go to Uganda of my own free will. I ask the Eritrean embassy to issue me a passport and all the required documents.’ They asked me to sign it and wanted to videotape me.”
MK Dov Khenin (Hadash ) sent the head of the Population and Immigration Authority an urgent request to stop the deportation back to Eritrea and to stop signing the refugees on the return documents.
“Returning asylum seekers to Eritrea is a clear and blatant violation of the ‘no return’ principle in the Refugee Rights Convention,” he wrote.
Attorney Reut Michaeli of the Hotline for Migrant Workers said “the fact that Israel prevents refugees from applying for asylum shows how obtuse we’ve become. Sending people in this situation back to their country means deportation – deportation to where their lives are in danger. There’s nothing voluntary about that.”
Neither the immigration authority nor the Justice Ministry reacted to the accusations.

ልዕሊ ኹሉ ኸኣ፡ ነታ ኣብ ገድሊ ካብ ዝጽንበር ኣትሒዙ ካብ ፈንጂ ንላዕሊ ዝፈርሓ፡ ስምረት ኤርትራውያንን፡ እተስዕቦ ኣድማዒ ናይ ሓባር ስጡም ቃልስን፡ መንእሰያት ምስ ኣያታቶምን ኣቦታቶምን ኣትኪሎም ስለዝሓዝዋ፡ ናይ ሞት ጻውዒት ኮይና፡ ካብ ስፍራኡ ከምዘይወጽእ ገይራቶ። በዚ ምኽንያት እዚ፡ ኣብ ኤርትራ፡ ፍርሒ ኣብቲ ዝግብኣ ስፍርኣ ኣትያ ማሚቛ ኣይወጽእን እየ ትብል ኣላ። ስርሒት ፎርቶ ተደጒላ፡ ከም መልኣከ-ሞት እንዳተቐልቀለት፡ “ኣንታ ጠላም!! ኣንታ ከዳዕ!! እቲ ሃጓፍ ተፈጢሩ እዩ፡ ኣበይ ድኣ ኢኻ ትረግጾ? ኣበይ ኢኻ ኸ ተብሎ?” እንዳበለት ወግሐ-ጸብሐ ተባህርሮ ኣላ። ኣብ ጽርጊያታትን መናድቕን ኣስመራ “ህ.ግ.ደ.ፍ. ጽደፍ!!” ዝብሉ ጭርሖታት ተለጢፍምን ተለቕሊቖምን ይርኣዩ። ኢሳያስ፡ ሎሚ ኸ እንታይ ተዘርጊሑ ሓዲሩ እንዳበለ ክጻናጸን ትዒቡ። “ሞት ንኢሳያስ!!” እምበር ካልእ ድኣ እንታይ ከይከውን ኢልካዮ፡” ዝብል መልሲ ጽሓይ በረቐት ኣብ ማዕጽኡ የንኳሕኩሖ ኣሎ።
ስመር!! ሰጉድ!! ሰጉም!! መቓልሕን ውጽኢትን ናይ ስርሒት ፎርቶ እዩ። ዝናብ ንቀርኒ ላም ትፈሊ ከም ዝብሃል፡ እዛ መዓልቲ እዚኣ፡ ንታሪኽ ቃልሲ ተቓዉሞ ኣብ ክልተ ምዕራፍ ከፊላቶ ኣላ። ኣብ ሃገረ ስደት፡ ሓርነታዊ ቃልሲ ቅድሚ 21 ጥርን፡ ድሕሪ 21 ጥርን እንታይ ይመስል ኣሎ? ኣብ ውሽጢ ሃገር እውን እንተኾነ ሓደ ኣይኮነን። እቲ ንኸይዛረብን ንኸይሰምዕን፡ ንኸይሓስብ እውን ተባሂሉ፡ ካብ መራኻቢታት ዓለም ምሉእ ነጺሉ ዓፊንዎ ዘሎ ህዝብና፡ ዕድመ ንዘመናዊ ተክኖሎጂ እቲ ዕላማ ናይ ፎርቶ ክሕብኦ ኣይከኣለን። እቲ ሓያል መልእኽቲ ፎርቶ፡ እቶም ተብዓት ዜጋታት ዝገበርዎ ተወፋይነትን ኣብነትን ጥራይ ዘይኮነስ፡ እቲ ምሉእ ህዝቢ ኤርትራ ዝሓቶ ዘሎ ሕቶ ብምቕራብ፡ ንመስዋእትነቶም በትሪ ርትዒ ስለዘትሓዝዋ እዩ። ኤርትራዊ ዜጋ፡ ናይ ፖለቲካን ሕልናን እሱራት ኣይፈትሑ፡ ብግዝኣተ ሕጊ እይንመሓደር፡ ቅዋም ኣይተግበር፡ ክብል ከምዘይክእል ይፈልጡ እዮም። እቶም ጀጋኑ ድምጺ ፍትሕን ሰላምን ራህዋን እዮም ኣቃሊሖም።
ስለዝኾነ ኸኣ እዩ፡ ኣብ ስደት ዝርከብ ኤርትራዊ፡ ድምጺ ፎርቶን ጠለባቱን ምስ ሰምዐ፡ ሽዑ ንሽዑ፡ ተቐቢሉ ብጻያዊ መልሲ-ተግባር ዝሃበ። ደገፉ ክገልጽ ብሓባር ሰሚሩ ኣብ ጽርጊያታት ዝፈሰሰ። ኮይኑ ኸኣ፡ ኣብ ወጻኢ ሃገራት፡ ዝኾነ ተቓላሳይ ዜጋ፡ “ፎርቶ ኣስሚራትና ኣላ፡ ብኣኣ ንቐጽል” ክብል ይስማዕ። ተቓዉሞና ብሓደ መዓልትን ኣብ ሓደ ስፍራን ብሓባርን ክድምዕ ይውዕል ኣሎ ብማለት ከኣ፡ ፍናኑን ሞራሉን ላዕሊ ሰጊዱ ይርከብ። ከምኡ እውን እቶም ኣብ ስመር ሩም ዝተዓደሙ ሰብ ተሞክሮን ፍልጠትን ዝኾኑ ገዳይም ተቓለስቲ ዜጋታት፡ “ስሙር ቃልሲ ሓያል እዩ። እስከ ብኣኣ፡ በዛ ፎርቶ ዘምጽኣትልና ስምረት ተሰማሚዕና ንስራሕ። ፎርቶ ህዝባዊ ሕቶ እያ ኣቕሪባ ዘላ እሞ፡ ንዕኣ ነዕሙቛን፡ ንዕኣ ነራጉዳን ነስፍሓያን።” እንዳበሉ ምኽሮም ይውፍዩ ኣለዉ። ድሕሪ ጥሪ 21 ኣብ ታሪኽ ቃልሲ ተቓዉሞ፡ ሓዲሽ ምዕራፍ ይግንጸል ኣሎ። እዚ ምዕራፍ እዚ፡ ውዒሉ ሓዲሩ እቲ ለውጢ ካብ ውሽጢ እዩ ዝመጽእ ኢሉ ይነግር። ነቲ ኣብ ግዳም ዝግበር ተቓዉሞ ዘነሃህሮ ድማ፡ እቲ ኣብ ውሽጢ ዘሎ ተቓዉሞ ፍኒሕኒሕ ምስ በለ እዩ።
ምስክሩ እውን፡ ኣብ ሰላማዊ ሰልፍታት ተቓወምቲ ዜጋታት፡ “ንሕና ካብዛ ውድብ እዚኣ ኢና፡ ንሕና ካብቲኣ ኢና፡ ንሕናስ ካብታ ሰልፊ እቲኣ እባ፡ ንሕና ካብዛ ማሕበር እዚኣ፡ ንሕና ካብ ሃገራዊ ባይቶ ኢና…ወዘተ” ዝብል መጸዋዕታታት ንዳሕራይ ግዜ ይጽንሓልና ኢሎም፡ ሓቢሮምን ሰሚሮምን፡ “ንሕና ደለይቲ ሰላምን ፍትሕን ለውጥን ዝኾንና ኤርትራውያን ዜጋታት ኢና። ቃልስና ነዚ ሽፍታዊ ስርዓት ንምጉሓፍን፡ ስልጣን ንህዝቢ ምርካብን እዩ። ንሕና ደገፍቲ ናይቲ ህዝባዊ ሕቶ ዘቕረበ ስርሒት ፎርቶ ኢና።” ብማለት ተጠርኒፎምን ሰሚሮምን መልእኽቶም ከቃልሑ ብምብቅዖም፡ ንቃልሲ ተቓዉሞ ኣብ ሃገራት ስደት ኣንሂርዎን ሓይሊ ሂብዎን ኣሎ።

ስመር!! ሰጉድ!! ሰጉም!! ኣብ ስመር ሩም ዘውትር ዝስምዖም ብስለስተ ሰ ዝጅምሩ፡ ናይ ስራሕ ቃላት እዮም። ቦዶ ጭርሖታት ኣይኮኑን። ብግብሪ ይሰርሑ ከምዘለዉ፡ ምስክርነት ዘየድልዮም ኮይኖም ኣለዉ። ጽዑቕ ሰላማዊ ሰልፍታት ዓለም ብዓለሙ ተኻይዱ። ሰሚሩ ሰጒዱ ንኢምባሲ ዓዲ እንግሊዝ። ሰጒሙ ሰጒዱ ንኢምባሲ ዓዲ ጣልያን። ቀጺሉ ኸኣ ሰጉድ ንቤት ጽሕፈታት ነቩስ፡ ሰጉም ንብሩስለስ ንዋሺንግተን፡ ይብል ኣሎ። ስመር ሩም ን24 ሰዓታት ከምኡ እዩ ክብል ዝውዕልን ዝሓድርን። የተግብሮ ድማ። ፎርቶ ነታ ሓዊ ወሊዓትሉ ኣይቀሃመትን። እታ ቚልዒ ትጉህር እያ ዘላ። ሃልሃልትኣ ናብ ባርዕ ተቐይሩ ንስርዓት ሸፋቱ ከትልብልቦም ናይ ግዜ ሕቶ እዩ። እዚ ባርዕ እዚ ኣብ ሃገርና ፍትሒ ክሳብ ዝነግስ ደው ዘብሎ የለን። ክቕጽል እዩ።

A stagnant mind in Asmara reflects at the AU summit in Addis through Girma Asmerom’s Vocal Chord

This is a continuation of my last article on Girma Asmerom’s speech at the recent AU summit in Addis. That article discussed his grievance vis-a-vis the Badme or Ethio-Eritrean border issue.
In this article I will discuss my opinion on his short speech at the summit on the US.
As it had been throughout the Eritrean experience, philosopher Afwerki can not finish an agenda without injecting the term “lies” and “US” in his speeches. I can not tell you if phobia or obsession caused this amplified paranoia vis-a-vis said Lies and Americans but President Afwerki is in one way or another chronically in love with DECEPTION and the US: both have become the center of his existence. He is deeply infatuated with lying; he denies the existence of lawlessness and injustice in Eritrea. So in love with America he is on the other hand; the interesting president accuses it for anything including a hick-up.
Girma Asmerom’s predicament on the groundless Eritrean excuse of failure on the US
The Eritrean government press release on the AU Summit presented Girma’s grievance stating that; “In this connection, the misguided US policy is holding peace hostage in Eritrea and Ethiopia, and the Horn region as a whole, Mr. Girma Asmerom underlined.”
Comment
Eritrea’s threat is not dangerous anymore and can not be used to hold the East Africans hostage any longer. It is a paper tiger that has been neutralized through absolute dictatorship, poor diplomacy, poverty, lawlessness, political instability, sanction, isolation, academic and economic stagnation, arrogance, empty pride, increasing public awareness, weakened Eritrean army, etc. Besides, the genuine democratic development in Somalia has nailed the final impression to the dead case by sidelining Al-Shebab (the best weapon of Afwerki’s ambition to disturb the region).
As for Eritrea’s accusation of America, the US has no responsibility here than facilitating the process peacefully which it did; the rest is Eritrea’s, needless to say that the Super Power has indeed officially and clearly fulfilled its responsibility on the matter by virtue of accepting our country’s ownership of Badme, the REDSES COAST and our ISLANDS included: The fact that the US validated the verdict at the HAGUE unquestionably justifies this conclusion.
How can a nation that does not even have a constitutional law accuse America of holding peace hostage in the region? Can someone tell this government that you can not manifest the art of holding peace hostage stronger than denying a constitution and education to a society in a language it understands?
An obstacle that Eritrea created viv-a-vis the US.
Afwerki, after confronting the Clinton administration face to face for at least 2 years, the Bush administration for 8 very long years, happened to be the first president to pick a steam with president Obama immediately after he came to power. Obama tried to have it better with Eritrea but Afwerki refused.
EVIDENCE
One source of information says that; “On Wednesday, June 17, 2008 a VoA reporter revealed that Mr.,Johnnie Carson (US Assistance Secretary for African Affairs) had alleged that the Eritrean Embassy in Washington, DC had returned his passport “without a visa in it.” According to the reporter, Carson commented later, “If relations are not improved it will not be because we’re not trying to act as a respected partner.”
Another sources states: “…..Mr. Michel Lewis [a politician representing the Europeans on the issue of Dawit Issac] explains the obstinacy of the Eritrean president [by] say[ing] the president has little or no interest in boosting diplomatic relations. For example, when the new US administration wanted to send to Eritrea Mr. Johnnie Carson, an official from the US Department of State, the Eritrean president insisted that he wants to talk with Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama. In relation to this, several letters were sent to the Eritrean present from the American government to which he did not reply even after several days. In spite of such confrontational (brutal and head on) approach, Mr. Michel says he tried his best to keep a good relationship, a relationship of trust with the Eritrean president, but he didn’t get what was promised to him. He added that he had done everything he could, listen to the president, never denounce him in public, show patience, and he thought that this would bring something in return. It never happened.”
Comment
This evidence discloses that Eritrea refused to normalize its relationship with America. Obama having had a job to do at the highest political pinnacle of the planet, had had no direct time for the vision less dictator. Neither could Hillary who was busy working as the third strongest politician on the planet spare the time for the president of Eritrea. Mr. Johnnie Carson was what Afwerki’s standard of political status deserved at best from the United states similar few other leaders in the continent. He was the qualified diplomat assigned for the job by his president. Afwerki, however, made his desire to meet either with Obama or Hillary mandatory for dialogue between the two countries and refuse to accept Mr. Carson for a chat.
Okey; here is the thing: Direct dialogue with an American president is not something any president can achieve: one must earn it through civility and good diplomacy. Afwerki could not understand this basic reality. He wanted to be like Meles Zenawi who earned respect from all international leaders (academically and politically) and directly met Obama on quiet few occasions representing his country and the African continent including Eritrea. Obama invited Meles to attend the G8 meeting held at Camp David in May 2012, for example to represent “Africa on the issue that concerns the continent: From climate talk to the other issues” and he did. Afwerki was represented by Meles in that summit like were all other African leaders. The difference was academic capacity and diplomatic intelligence (“Meles acquired an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the Open University of the United Kingdom in 1995 and a masters of science in economics from the Erasmus University of the Netherlands in 2004. In July 2002, Meles received an honorary doctoral degree in political science from the Hannam University in South Korea.”
Truth hurts but he educated himself and his fellow politicians after the war with Mengistu was over, ladies and gentlemen! If you have higher education in business, economics and political science, chances are you have equipped yourself with academic tools to lead a nation better than than those in the opposite side of the fence. I do not think the Eritrean president went to school after independence; nor do I believe that he allowed his officials to be educated for their positions like Meles did, needless to comment that he does not appear like a person who self-educates through reading. But Meles qualified himself for a leader to be reckon with and had no problem meeting any leader in the world.
In short Afwerki did not allow Obama to play a positive role in any issue similar to his habitually rigid and confrontational diplomacy against other initiatives. Obama, therefore, can not civilize Afwerki by twisting his arms and must wait for something to change in order to help. I think brother Girma, once again failed to come with a new idea in this contemplation. There is no evidence that he provided for his allegation against the US at the meeting.
In conclusion, whether by personal, psychological, circumstantial or psychopathic reasons beyond the comprehension of the ordinary mind, Afwerki can not avoid getting in cross roads! He can not avoid the US for survival; yet he can not stop accusing it for all the problems he created in the region.
